Outstanding
document from SAP just out from the oven!
I’ve been
up until now reading the document, as it is very extensive (47 pages).
In it
you’ll find the compilation of all SAP recommendations regarding setting up a
SAP HANA landscape.
Definitely
the guide for customers regarding the architecture decision process (some of
the content is similar to was covered in the old Netweaver based “Master
Guides”).
Key
chapters are:
- SAP HANA Use Cases explanation (operational data-marts, accelerators, HANA as primary persistence, etc …
- SAP HANA Architecture (basic architecture, scale-up vs scale-out, XS services, software components, etc…)
- SAP HANA Deployment Options (on-premise, certified HW partners, TDI, cloud, etc…)
- SAP HANA Transport (the basics of moving developments to production in an HANA environment, and no different from what I’ve seen in the TechEd sessions…)
- Data Provisioning (all the tools to load data into HANA…)
- SAP HANA and Business Continuity (references to relevant documents on this topic
